b'Working area:- n Ensure effective ventilation0 C n Good lighting for the mould arean Ensure its a dust free environment during and after sprayingn Ambient Temperature range 18-25 0 C (66-77F)n Humidity max 80%Brush Application:- n Check the mould surface is at room temperature.n Always use the best quality KoverTek brushes with long and softbristles that dont drop hairsn Stir gelcoat in its originalpackaging before use (Dont over mix with high shear mixers)BRUSH n Decant the required amount of gelcoat into a clean KoverTek bucketn Add 2% MEKP Catalyst to the gelcoat and mix thoroughly to ensureeven distribution of catalyst through the liquid. Make sure thecatalyst is a quality medium or high reactivity type. (Check withKovertek if unsure) Some low reactivity types are not suited and offerpoor cure through.n Apply to the mould immediately using positive brush movements butgiving even coverage.n Test gelcoat when coat is still wet. The wet film thickness target shouldbe 500 - 600 .n Use the thickness gauge measuring tool to check the wet filmthickness during application.n Adhere to the gel time quoted on the TDSn Never add more than 4% catalyst (cure will be inhibited) but also ensure catalyst is measured out carefully each time. All too often catalysts are added without enough consideration to therecommendations. We can offer a variety of Catalysts to suit the conditions and time of year. When to Laminate:- n Depending on room temperature, the gelcoat film will need. approximately 1.5 - 2 hours to cure when it should then be1 5-2 tack-free and ready for laminating. As stated above roomtemperature plays a big part on cure times.HOURS n Ensure an even and complete cure has occurredbefore commencing lamination. 8n DO NOT LEAVE THE GELCOAT TO CURELONGER THAN 8 HOURS BEFORE STARTINGHOURSLAMINATIONGet in touch: KoverTek Limited Follow us on Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Units 1-4 Poldermere InstagramRed House LaneTel: 01604 781702 HanningtonEmail: Info@kovertek.com NorthamptonshireWeb: kovertek.com NN6 9SZ24'
